Projects and Blog

Jarrods Tech

My personal blog site. I upload IT related Projects, Fixes and How-To's. Everything from Synology NAS, Unifi, Raspberry Pi, Windows and Linux Servers, Smart Home and More.

Billtrackr

My personal passion project I have been working on since uni. This started as an access DB in my first year of uni, it began life as a way for my Nan to record her monthly expenses. This is the second iteration of the web app. It is now a PHP, HTML and JavaScript based web app with a MySQL backend. It uses chart.js and integrates with the UP Bank API. It also sends out a monthly update email.

ReAmped CSV Reader

ReAmped CSV Reader

My energy provider, ReAmped can provide a CSV of my usage data. I was intrigued to know when I was using the most power and when the Controlled Load was running. I created a page that will read the CSV and store them in an SQL DB. I then read that data and display it using PHP and Chart.js. My version allows me to seelect the month and year to view. This Example Version has no DB and reads the CSV directly.

Raspberry Pi Photo Frame

Raspberry Pi Photo Frame

This was originally a project for my Nan. I made a PC monitor into a photo frame, then ran this code on a Raspberry Pi to display family photos. Its built on PHP and can run on any web server with PHP installed. I have also installed rclone to sync the photos from a google drive.

Lockdown Project

I previously used Unity for a project at Uni. At home in lockdown, I thought I would brush up on C# and make a simple Unity Game. I'm continuing to work on and improve it when I have free time.
